Even with this incredibly brilliant full moon – which it seems that all of my friends on Facebook and Instagram are talking about and posting pictures of – the amazing darkness of the deep Appalachian Mountains wins out.
In this two-minute video, I got so close to this horse that she thought my iPhone was a treat I was offering – and she tried to eat it. And still – with her mouth all but wrapped around it, the world class camera of my iPhone 11 couldn’t see her.
Why was I able to see so well in the dark? So “relatively” well, I guess I should say. When my horse friend moved downhill, my eyes also could not see her huge form until I got within about four feet of her.
